- Protecting the Environment
As one of the top 25 largest clubs in the United States, the fourth oldest club in Iowa (Club No. 118) and the largest in our Rotary district, District No. 5970, we have a proud tradition and a bold future serving the Cedar Rapids metro.
Our club works to support education through our club-sponsored Interact Club at Jefferson High School, our RotaryActive career mentoring program, and our annual Service Above Self awards, which recognize local high school students exemplifying Rotary's Four-Way Test.
We also lead many other multi-club service projects in the Cedar Rapids metro, from raising money for the construction of Rotary Hall (home to NewBo City Market) to an annual cleanup of Cedar Lake.
More reasons to join our Rotary club
Quality and diversity of membership
Our membership reflects a broad cross-section of business and professional men and women from the community. Our club is commonly referred to as "Downtown Rotary," because it meets in downtown Cedar Rapids, but its members are drawn from leadership ranks all across our greater metropolitan area.
Opportunity to network
We meet every Monday at noon at the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in downtown Cedar Rapids, and offer both in person and online hybrid attendance options. Make new connections that will power your business and life.
Educational programs
Even the most informed of our members learn about new businesses, organizations and initiatives through our weekly programs. Gain deeper insights into our city, state and country, and find new ways to improve life for others.
Our speakers' credentials
Our weekly speakers include political and governmental leaders, business CEOs, directors of charitable organizations, school administrators, coaches, inventors and visionaries. Hear directly from leaders you might not otherwise have a chance to meet.
Rich history and established traditions
Rotary was only nine years old when it came to Cedar Rapids in 1914. The Rotary Club of Cedar Rapids is Iowa's fourth oldest Rotary club and the largest in our district. With a tradition of philanthropy and high ethical standards, our club is highly respected in the Cedar Rapids area.
Stable membership ranks
The overall size of our club has been relatively stable over the past 15 years. We pride ourselves on rigorous financial management and have always operated from a position of financial strength.
